Associate & Board Member Responsibilities
Board Member
Each board member lends expertise and knowledge to the deliberations of chapter actions and policies. In concert, board members are a representative focus group of the membership, which help to set organizational priorities, establish policies, and ensure the chapter operates in accordance with its bylaws. Depending on the chapter bylaws, all leaders will be elected, by the chapter members, to be board members and then the board members will vote to elect officers or all leaders will be elected, by the chapter members, into either an officer or board member role.
You would be involved in a number conference calls/board meetings throughout the year (minimum 4) and the trainings put on by our chapter. You would be involved with putting together our Vendor Day/Golf Outing and planning throughout the year. We have certain requirements from National that we have to meet by the end of the year that we focus on.
Associate Board Member
You could come on as an Associate member which you could view as “entry-level” for lack of a better term. You can be as involved with the board as you would like the only real difference between a board member and associate member is that board members are allowed to vote, associate members cannot. You would be involved in all conversations, but “final voting” would just be board members
